Agrimonia parviflora
Small-flowered Agrimony, Swamp Agrimony
Swamp agrimony is a North American native with a fondness for moist ground. Identification: Plants are 30-60" (76-152 cm) in height. Leaf groups emerge alternately from a very hariy central stem. The groups are odd pinnate—composed of opposing pairs of leaflets and tipped with another leaflet. Leaflets are 2-3" (5-7.6 cm) × ½" (1.3 cm), and serrated. Interspersed between the larger leaflets are much smaller ones less than 1" (2.5 cm) long. Yellow flowers about ¼" (6.3 mm) in diameter, with five petals, are spread along the branches. They appear from August to September. Fruits are achenes: small fruits that contain a single seed that nearly fills it. Online References:
