About plant names...

Red torch cactus is native to northern Argentina, and is not found in the wild in North America.

Identification: These occur in low clumps as high as 3′ (1 m), with cylindrical stems 1½-1¾″ (4-5 cm) in diameter. Each stem has 14-17 ribs, with thin spines ½-2½″ (1.5-7 cm) long. Spines are between yellow and brown in color. Large flowers, up to 2½″ (7 cm) in diameter and 4″ (10 cm) deep, are red, pink, yellow, or orange.
