Oak leaf blister mite
Oak leaf blister mites are a species of eriophyoid mites. They are native to eastern North America.
Identification: These mites are found on white oak (Quercus alba). They secrete chemicals that interfere with the plant’s growth, producing raised blister-like galls in leaf surfaces. The galls are irregular in shape, and may be green or shades of red, brown, purple, white, and yellow. They do not significantly harm the tree.
