Salt bush
Salt bush is native to Ecuador, Peru, and the Galápagos Islands.
Plants: Saltbush forms dense tangles of vegetaton on beaches and dry lowlands. Stems have multiple branches with short, sticky hairs, sprawling across several meters.
Leaves: Alternate, simple, ovate to somewhat cordate, 1–1¾″ (3–5 cm) long, thick and waxy.
Flowers: Tight clusters of small green appear at axils and branch tips. Each flower has five lobes and is 1/16″ (2 mm) long.
Fruits: Five-segmented fruits are 1/32″ (1.5 mm) long, and somewhat pear-shaped.
Habitats: Coastal zone and arid lowlands.
